Tonight the New York Yankees play in the World Series
and yours truly will be cheering them on.
I love my hubby but I love Derek Jeter too.

I also love random date nights with good friends, meeting in coffee shops, and listening to Jazz music, preferably some Ella Fitzgerald.

Last night was one of those chill Fall nights with my friend Dina.
As for today I served my civic duty in court. First time ever.
Jury Duty = no fun.
But at least today also marks the beginning of a
4-day weekend!! yayyyyyyy!!!

I'm a Miles & Coltrane kind of girl, but I do love, love, love me some jazz! There's a restaurant that does brunch and live jazz concerts...we went there for my 24th and I would love to go back!

I had jury duty a few weeks ago and I LOVED it! I was picked for the jury and served on the four-day trial! It was so interesting, I was so excited to be chosen. I heard from some of the other jurors that DC calls you like clockwork every two years, so my fingers are crossed that this wasn't the last time!

We had our teacher convention weekend last week...too bad I was laid up in bed with bronchitis!!
WOOOO I am so rooting for the Yanks! as I type this, I have my laptop with me on the couch, and i'm watching the game... it's the 7th inning and i'm just ready for this world series to be clinched!!!

I teach in WI and we had our convention last weekend. We get paid to go to convention or work in our rooms on Thurs so I spent the day (until 7 PM) working in my classroom. I did take a break and met my dh and boys for a nice relaxing lunch (not something we teachers ever get to do during the school year on a weekday). I did have Friday off and boy was the break nice! Of course getting back in the groove of things Mon was difficult after so many days off. Enjoy your break!!
One amazing thing about marrying into the family that I did? (an added bonus really) No jury duty. Ever. You just say the words about you your related to and the defense attorneys all say 'no thank you'. My MIL was called in once. They had just moved to town, didn't know anyone, and had a 5 and 3 year old. She's never been called back since.
